Amy Rice BlumenthalAmy Blumenthal organizes the Gala Concert on our final evening, which is Friday, June 28th. The master teachers will give solo performances and everyone participates in the final flute choir ensemble. The public is invited to this concert and following reception.

Amy received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Colorado and her Masters from the University of Michigan, both in flute performance. She was an early pioneer in the development of flute choirs, establishing ALRY Publications as a way to share her many arrangements for this genre with the numerous emerging flute ensembles. After selling ALRY Publications in 2013, it is still continuing to grow and promote music for all woodwind instruments.

Ms. Rice Blumenthal has presented clinics internationally, has conducted the National High School Flute Choir, the NFA Professional Flute Choir, and numerous reading sessions for the NFA.

Still an active performer, Amy is very involved in Arts Advocacy, serving on a number of arts boards including, Martha Graham Dance Co, Wildacres Retreat, and the National Symphony/Kennedy Center, as well as Emeritus Board for Appalachian State University, Univ. of NC School of the Arts, and the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.  She also serves as an independent advisor to numerous other arts organizations.  As a lover of all animals, she is on the Board of the Humane Society.
