Tim
Carey, pianist, will play for the Göran Marcusson Flute Masterclass and
also teach a masterclass from the standpoint of the pianist as collaborator.
He lives in Chelmsford, England, spending his time giving solo recitals, concerto performances and partnering with many instrumentalists, especially flutists. He has toured the United States with Goran Marcusson and Clare Southworth and played piano at the NFA Convention in Chicago. In England he has played with many leading flutists, including Ian Clarke, Jonathan Snowden, Mike Cox, Mike Mower, Jeannie Galway and Simon Desorgher.
As an orchestral keyboard player he has worked in the past with the London Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonia. He is much in demand as a teacher and is on the faculty of the Colchester Institute. Piano playing has taken Tim all over Britain, Europe, Israel, Malta, Russia and the USA. When not involved in musical pursuits, his other interests include languages, restoring cars and flying.
Tim Carey’s collaborations with world-famous flutists such as Mike Mower, Ian Clarke and Claire Southworth are legendary. He is truly a flute player’s pianist.
